The Family Badass

Forget about using words like black sheep or scapegoat of the family.. they sound a bit timid. To all you sheep and goats what we really are is the badass of the family, well once we wake up and walk away from the abuse for good! The family rebel challenges and exposes unhealthy family patterns and is prepared to walk away. Sadly I suffered from ‘Cinderella Syndrome’ for way too long (too kind and willing to put up with years of emotional abuse).

Take back your power!

The Rebel Archetype

Rebel . Anarchist . Revolutionary . Political Protester .  Nonconformist . Pirate

Challenges authority to effect social change.

Rejects spiritual systems that do not serve inner needs.

Rejects legitimate authority out of anger.

Rebels out of peer pressure or fashion.

Our images of the Rebel may be too closely aligned with cliches of youth culture to let us see the deeper significance of this valuable archetype.

Whether politically inclined like Martin Luther King, Jr., Betty Friedan, or Lech Walensa, or an artistic innovator such as Van Gogh, Joyce, or Coltrane, the Rebel is a key component of all human growth and development.

The Rebel in a support group can be a powerful aid in helping the group break out of old tribal patterns. It can also help you see past tired preconceptions in your field of professional or creative endeavor.

The Rebel can also lead you to reject spiritual systems that do not serve your inner need for direction and to seek out more appropriate paths.

The Shadow Rebel

The shadow Rebel, conversely, may compel you to rebel out of peer pressure or for the sake of fashion, and so become mired in another manifestation of conformity.

The shadow Rebel may also reject legitimate authority simply because it is asking you to do something you find difficult or unpleasant.

Be especially careful in evaluating your rebellious impulses; look for a lifelong pattern of rebelling against the establishment. But even if the Rebel is not part of your intimate circle of archetypes, you probably have it to some extent and should pay attention to its urgings.

Movies Portraying ‘Rebels’

Watching movies related to one of your core archetype especially when going through the process of healing your shadow aspect is a powerful tool to help you understand yourself (your motivations, your passions, your fears – why you behave the way you do).

The Truth Will Set Us Free

Love this post by Annie – gentlekindness
Thank you..  adding it to my Rebel and Visionary Archetype category

Your truth is what you know it to be. Do not let anyone manipulate you into believing what they say is the truth. You have your own mind and your own heart. You have your own point of view and way of seeing the world.

Your way of viewing the world may be different that other people. It may even be very unusual. You may feel like you are the only person in a situation that perceives the truth the way you do.

Your truth is valid. It is your truth. The other people could be completely wrong in their perspective of a situation.

Many people just go along with what everyone else says is the truth. However the masses see it or however the social group sees it, they internalize that reality.

Your reality is your reality. If you see that something is unjust, it very well may be…
